BAMS means 'Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery' an official course
conducted throughout India as prescribed by CCIM ( Central Council of Indian
Medicine - a goverment regulating body concerned with Education ,research &
practice of Ayurveda , Siddha Medicine in India).Its of 5-1/2 yrs ( 4-1/2 yrs
course plus 1 yr internship programme)
Well the options for Ayurvedic graduates, i.e., after BAMS .....can be as

To do Ayurvedic practice/ mix practice ( Ayurved & allopathy ) as a G.P. (
General practitioner
To do P.G. ( post graduation) in Ayurveda such as M.D.(Ayurved) or M.S.(Ayurved)
To do post graduate Diplomas in ayurved eg.PG DPC ( Dip. in Panchakarma)
To do PG certificates in Ayurveda eg. PG Certificate in Ksharsutra karma
To do Post graduation in Management like M.M.S. / M.B.A./PGDBM/PGDMM etc
To do Post graduation in Pharmaceutical Management like PG DPM
To do Post graduation in Hospital/Health Management like M.H.A./ P.G.Dip. in
Health/Hospital Administration
To do Post graduation in Clinical Research like PG Dip.in Cli.Res./ PG Cert.. in
