Samir, a rather good article, I must say. However, as long as corruption and selfishness persist (both go hand-in-hand), most people won't look beyond "what is there in it for me?". That is the sad truth of today's life, and I might sound like a hypocrite if I don't include myself in that crowd. Yep, there are many times I do think like that, and I do try to move away from that mind-set as much as possible. It is very hard to be self-less.
Why do people vote for corrupt personalities? Thanks to the restrictive practices in India, where setting up of any business or anything requires endless permits, and naturally, if a short-cut can be found, people will take the easiest way. And that short-cut is bribery. Which is rather selfish on the part of the citizens. It may be too late in the day to change that mind-set, unless there is a radical change. Just my thoughts.
