Some snakes are so quick that before the volunteers arrive they would have
escaped. My British friends living nearby that 2 cats swallowed by a python
(who they had seen in their yard) and one dog killed by a snake - probably a
cobra. They were devastated and although they are wildlife enthusiasts and
know how to handle snakes, the cobra was much too quick for them and escaped
before the volunteers arrived.
