You continue to tickle me pink, by once again assuring us that "church going,
create positive and healthy mental attitude which is what is behind the
beneficial effects." Goanet atheists have pounded us into submission with their
claim that church-going was a wasted activity, generally undertaken by those
with no cognitive function. :=))

Mario responds:

To begin with, you have seriously truncated what I said to completely change
its meaning. I'm not sure why you embarrass yourself by doing this because
some of us have far too superior cognitive functions to miss such sly
misrepresentations.

I wrote, "If one lacks cognitive function to begin with going to church is
hardly likely to create what is missing. What I was suggesting was that there
are likely to be many social activities, in addition to church going, that
create the positive and healthy mental attitude which is what is behind the
beneficial effects."

In addition:

a) The only ones that any atheist has pounded into submission would be Padre
Ivo and yourself, but that was because of your own faulty use of scientific
evidence and had nothing to do with church going.

c) I don't recall any Goanet atheist saying that church going was a wasted
activity undertaken by those with no cognitive function. You just made that
up, as with all the other straw men you routinely build to make your cases.

d) However, they may have accused YOU of lacking cognitive function but for
entirely different reasons. For example, faulty memory or recall, or
deliberate misrepresentations as we see above when you truncated what I had
written.

Gilbert wrote:

One should not forget that after church / temple, one also receives "the
village 'gozal' (news)", which also keeps the individual connected / wired to
the outside world, helping their cognition.

Mario responds:

It was not I that forgot this as a careful reading of my complete quote shown
above would confirm.

Thanks for making my point that it is the social activity that helps mental
health and cognition, not just the church going.
