Eugene, In the first place, how does a dead man defend himself? Regardless of the truth or otherwise of your allegations (which is not the point really), we could go about making all kinds of allegations against anyone who has passed on. Who is to judge? Secondly, here is an artiste who has obviously played a crucial role in the cultural life of the Goan community over a considerable period of time. Should we remember him on the basis of such criteria? A single sentence scattered without discretion over a media that reaches a large number of readers could have a really negative impact. Thirdly, the man has only just passed away. Is it the appropriate time to rake up such issues now? Even having truth on your side (assuming it is) would be no excuse for insensitivity, I would feel.
