I know a lot of foreigners who have bought old and heritage homes in Goa and
have restored them. Some of them are very close friends of mine and they
live most of the year in Goa. One acquaintence bought a beautiful home in
Saligao but unfortunately after living for many years, sold it and had to go
back to England.
Roland, on another issue I don't have an estate with garderns, maids etc.
that was when my father was in the army and we lived mainly in army
cantonments, that was the style in the fifties and sixties. The ex-pats who
live in Delhi, especially in Vasant Vihar, Maharani Bagh, etc. they live in
style with chauffeurs, butlers, maids, gardners.One of them said to me, hate
to go back to my own country when my husband is transferred back as I'll
have to do all the work myself.
