It is they themselves who are solely responsible for turning our Mandovi river in to a "Las Vegas" and have been patronizing these dens frequently too which shows the elasticity of their leisure. Today some of them say if casino can be legalised, why not the "matka" ? Whow ! What visionaries, do we have in our Vidhan Sabha ? Every statement by our politicians today is an open invitation to acrimony and all the while I was thinking that the practical way of dealing with changes was pragmatism. When modern mathematics was first introduced it had confused a lot of scholars and thinkers alike, specially the progression of two negatives making a positive, but one has to really admire the thinking ability of our elite politicians, I am sure they could make the great Socrates, Aristotle, Archimedes and their likes turn green with envy in their graves by their way of thinking. We are much honoured to have such high value thinkers to Govern us and due credit must be given to the people who elect such high quality thinkers to the Assembly. Well done Goans, I am not sure any more as to who deserves whom ! We have thousands of pressing issues that need to be taken up urgently and our pathetic MLA's indulge their time in discussing "matka and dhirios", instead of bringing in a spirit of ebullience into the people by getting in projects that will favour constructive development and enhance economic growth without harming nature, ecology or the overall topography and creating employment conducive to the economic upliftment of the locals. They should be more interested in improving the infrastructure, the health services, education policy and preserving our Identity, culture and our heritage but unfortunately our politicians are more interested in legalising the illegal, today they say if casino are legal why not matka ? Tomorrow it could be why not prostitution and drugs as well, yes, they could get a hell of lot of income for the state, gambling, sex and drugs, the best combination for a booming tourism Industry and why not ? We already have the Nigerians and the Rusputins onboard all dressed and warmed up just waiting for the whistle. So why wait ? Let the show begin. Welcome to Goa where nothing is illegal but everything is legal, an add like this could do wonders to Goa's economy in this time of world recession. Gosh, what am I thinking ? I am surely loosing my cool, what about you guys ? Do we need to elect imbeciles like these to govern us ? Goa most certainly deserve a better lot of people to run it's administrative machinery, incorruptible people with a much better and wider vision then the present pack of jokers. We do have to do, what we need to do and do it fast.
