"These gentlemen should apologise, or I will be forced to refer the matter to the House Committee on Privileges," the Speaker said, further adding that since the assembly was in session, he would rather summon the two writers in the assembly. "They have insulted the assembly, and I can bring them here, and even imprison them," he added. "I warn the press not to print anything, which is not within the framework of rules and regulations of the House," Mr Rane warned, stating that the members of the House should too refrain from saying anything unparliamentary. Earlier, the Calangute MLA, Mr Agnelo Fernandes moving a Breach of Privilege against the two writers said that one of the articles has attributed untrue statement to him, while other one has compared the politicians/ MLAs to tiatr artists and legislative assembly to a tiatr stage, which is highly deplorable. "We are performing our Constitutional duties and this newspaper, in order to fill its columns cannot make wild allegations at us," he added. The Aldona MLA, Mr Dayanand Narvekar, who has been linked to corruption in one of the two articles, stated that the two writers should be brought before the House for casting aspersions on the MLAs. He further said that apart from press, the individuals have also started reacting to the functioning of the House, noting that the Freedom of Speech of the MLAs in the House cannot be curbed. "Mr Kelekar is the son of Mr Gurunath Kelekar, the convenor of Movement for Amity towards Roads in Goa (MARG), which is a body on which government spends large amount of money," Mr Narvekar said, retorting "Have we questioned how this money is being utilised." http://www.navhindtimes.in/news/goa-news/1658-write-ups-in-local-daily-draw-ire-from-assembly-speaker-
