Wonderful photographs by Joegoauk. This is what I face when I take the Betim ferry and vice-versa. I was happy when TOI, Goa Edition published my letter in their section 'From Pillar to Post'. On Monday the 3rd, there was no ferry at Betim. Reached the bus stop at 9 am, thousands of office goers trying to hop into the bus. I managed to get a lift to Panjim, did my work, when I reached the Panjim ferry at noon, again no ferry, had to take two buses back to Betim.Ferry resumed in the afternoon. My maid tells me that no two-wheelers were allowed. My prayers have been answered and the candles I lit at the Betim cross in front of my place. Cannot understand why, when there are two bridges, these two wheelers have to use the ferry?

Panjim-Betim Ferry stops ferrying Vehicles?
?
It was really embarrassing moment for some two wheelers when they came in full speed to board ferry?only to?turn back from the ferry boat's ramp as vehicles are not allowed from now?
?
They should have put up a notice board at a prominent place or a circular in the local press (I may have missed to read one).
?
It was since yesterday the 3rd August 2009, the ferry ?Amona? ferries only passenger on foot and off course bicycles.
?
Is it a permanent arrangement or?due to ?the ferry ?Amona? being the smaller ferry boat (as some people say)?
?
Earlier both Pax and the vehicles were dangerously over-loaded into ferry boat
as can be seen in this pic
