----------------------------------------------------------------- Marlon, ref your below post I took the liberty of giving u link to views by a local on migrants, maybe if you care to be in touch with more opinions/news in Goa and remove your blindfolds!! Also surely u appreciate that there are unemployment opportunities being created in Goa to bring in Migrants e.g. mega-project which are not needed to house locals!! Will yes I might have limited credibility as I am an NRI; am not sure what ur status is ; if you are an NRI then you will have the same limited credibility as me; else if you are have permanently migrated then your limited credibility will be "further limited". http://www.oheraldo.in/pagedetails.asp?nid=25622&cid=13 (Re-pasted below) *Goans: the best migrants Sabby Leitao, Chinchinim *Over the years Goans have migrated to different countries. Wherever Goans have moved, they are welcomed with open arms. I have met many Goans in countries like Great Britain, Fiji, Australia and Portugal. In spite of being a graduate with good marks I was never able to find a job in Goa in a government department, maybe because I could not raise money to pay a bribe. But I was able to get a good job on a cruise liner. This the case for many Goans. Today Goa is place for criminals and robbers to hide and the population of non-Goans has gone up to a dangerous level. We do need people from other states to a certain extent, but these people always carry dirty baggage with them wherever they go. Today Margao town is overtaken by migrants and any visit to Margao reminds oneself of the gallis of Mumbai. It has become very dirty and smelly, and I have seen people answering nature’s call by the side of the road. There are still some people who say that if Goans can go anywhere, a non-Goans should also be welcome in Goa. But people from other states never adjust themselves to the local Goans culture. They never change their bad habits and learn to improve themselves. But a Goan can adjust to any foreign culture, which is why a Goan is welcome everywhere. Post from Marlon Sorry, Arwin has very limited credibility in this regard, because he has himself "abandoned" Goa for greener pastures abroad. The large outflux of Goans is one reason why openings have been created for non-Goans to enter Goa. Rajan, who is a US citizen who maintains a US residence is another part time patriot. Based on your email, it looks like you too are holiday Goan. If and when I hear the real full time locals in Goa start complaining (e.g. FN, Cecil Pinto, my parents and family) about the so called ghatti (aka Indian Nigger) influx, I will reverse my opinions. If you guys don't like the way Goa is turning out to be, you have two choices: move to Goa permanently and bring change, or just leave Goa for good.
