Like they say:
One sparrow a summer does not make

Likewise, one meal a day, that too cooked commercially, will not benefit the students nutritionally.

I fail to understand why this stupid idea is being given teeth to.
If the government is interested in feeding the children at school, then let them finance the schools to set up canteens as according to their needs and feed the school kids as well as the village kids et al.

India can do this in style. Just bring back the $1500 Billon salting in the Swiss Banks. Why the midday meals at all which is prone to give food poisoning heartaches and headaches? This country, with all that swiss money, can afford to give what the children in school would die to have.... Pure black 98% cacao chocolate bar a day which is full of energy and all the goodness of nutrition that a growing human body will want. Remember the Aztecs? They lived upto 150 years and worked like horses and never had any fatal deseases like cancers and heart failures.

PURE BLACK ( MAGIC) CACAO CHOCOLATE and not the adulterated worthless s*** that is being sold by Nestles and others which is less then 10% chocolate and which leads to more health problems than can be imagined.

Besides, the children will just love it.

Is this a question about supplying food centrally? I think the focus
needs to be on bringing efficiency and transparency into the system.

Very few questions are asked as to who gets the contracts, and on what
basis. Meanwhile, events such as these are simply converted into an
excuse to go on a rampage against potentially-oppositional NGOs (even
if they play an opposition role only very mildly). FN

All of Goa's schools can be supplied with mid-day meals which are centrally cooked in two or three centres. I had read earlier in Outlook that this was
being very successfully done in AP. Goa is a small state and this is a God
given chance to prove out mettle (We Goans like to pretend we are different
from the other 'Indians'. so here's our chance to show we are different.)
