I was about to reply to Dr. Barad and now Rajan writes about humiliation to Hindus in Saudi Arabia.
I was even shocked to read that Dr. Barad visited Saudi Arabia...:)

I ask them Why do Hindus or anyone want to come to Saudi Arabia, when they know that this Country is not a Free Democratic Country like India and that All forms of non-muslims worship is banned in Saudi Arabia
by the Govt.

I have been working in Saudi for the last 18 years and there are thousands of Hindus working here for the last 30-40 years. Most of the Engineers working for Sabic, Mobile and Aramco are ex IPCL,BPCL,Herdilla, Reliance etc. Even Wipro & Reliance Telcom has signed contracts and thousands of their staff are in Saudi. Most of the Indian Hindus working are mostly in Management or as Advisors.

The past 18 years I am staying with my Hindu friends and they do not have any problems here. Some of the Hindus have their own business in partnership with the Saudis. Recently we have seen a lot of Maharashtrians and Gujrati Hindus opening small small shops here. This is a peacefull country if you remain
within the laws of the country.

If you are traveling on work purpose for the first time, the immigration authorities do investigate,
this is normal with everyone.

There is a saying in konkani...Aplem ghor. sothen Mor...dusrea ghor Bontor...In your own house
you are the king...others house is a rag for you....

I don't usually respond to anything Rajan Parrikar has to say
but I have to correct this martyred statement of his. Indians
are humiliated in Saudi Arabia not because they are Hindus

As is customary by now, Selma Cardoso/Carvalho is wrong.

Hindus are indeed singled out for humiliation BECAUSE
they are Hindus. There have been so many instances
of Hindu idols being confiscated (and perhaps trashed)
by the Saudi immigration authorities. This does not
negate the fact that non-Hindu Indians are also harassed
and humiliated by the Saudis.

All this is so well known that one can be ignorant
of it only if one has one's head up one's you-know-what.

Axiom for the day: people who assert that they do not
usually respond to or read what Rajan Parrikar writes
usually respond to and read what Rajan Parrikar writes.

Warm regards,
