               August 25, 2009 - Goanet's 15th Anniversary

Eric, old chap...

Do you veridicously want us to believe that the genteel, well -mannered, spoken,
scholarly, Rolly, was such a goonish bully in his tender years?

You did, indeed, inform us earlier that a painful, as well as sartorially
prejudical
kick, upon some spot of your anatomy, also continues to badger your memory...

Has he improved/mellowed with age or, do you still maintain cautious distance
when
you´ll meet? Perhaps you judicially avoid such a contigence...

Along with curiosity goes also an apprehensive trepidation because I wish to
call on
him in the course of my (last?) grand tour...

After all, we have grown up addressing his dear Mamma & uncles & aunts as
"Prima...
Primo..."

I will take chances, as is usual with me, throwing caution to the Missisauga
winds &
descend upon my sweet "Priminho...", amply padded around posterior & shins, as
we
were wont to do when peremptorilly summoned to face a wrathfull Fr. Mário
Meyrelles,
after some quetionable petty demeanour or other...

One I painfully remember is pretty severe physical admonishment receive with a
thick
ruller, about which nothing was fair, after having, harmlessly, vaulted over
the Fatima
convent wall, on a romantically moonlit eve, when the little angels used to
romp during
their pre-slumber outing...with no other intent than holding a wee palm or
two...

Their, none too soft giggles & thiters fetched a stern Sister who along with an
sterner
accolyte, insisted on escorting me to Fr. M. M. even at that, relatively,
advanced hour...

The ferocity of the ensuing ordeals that freely rained upon the tender spots of
my
young body ... I leave to your conjecture...

Suffice it that the ordeals my adored one would merrit a great deal lessened my
torture;
though, I never learnt the degree of its intensity because the little humbug
refused to
speak even a word to me ad jeunésse infinituum...

Alfred
