NT report reads,
"Campaigners for transparency and accountability in
> management of church properties are expected to meet the
> Archbishop soon. .................................
Present at this meet were at least 40 persons. Prominent
> among them being Ms Libby Lobo Sardessai, Mr Flaviano Dias,
> Fr Romaldo De Souza, Mr Bernardo De Souza, Dr
> Teotonio De Souza, Fr Mouzinho Athaide, Ms Devika Sequeira,
> Mr Fredrick Noronha, ex-MLA, Mr Victor Gonsalves,
> and ex-MLA, Mr Radharao."

Can someone throw some light on whether these elements have ever been concerned
about the welfare of the church in the past. What is their sudden concern for
church properties? If they were, some of them would not have given consent to
the communal CD during the BJP rule. Names are no pointer to being christian or
not. Shantaram Kamat may also be a christian in today's era. The MP behind it
all is alleged to have been a chamcha of Indira Gandhi and incited her to raid
Gandhian institutions during the emergency wherein several manuscripts of
historical importance were destroyed in those police raids. This non-resident
Goan from Delhi who cannot reside without some government posting is not like
the son of Goa, Planner Mr. Edgar Ribeiro who gave consultancy for a token fee
of Re1/-. Before demanding transparency and accountability from the church, the
NRI Commissioner and his band of self-proclaimed righteous campaigners need to
give an account about themselves to the Goan pub
lic. Some of them may be wanting to take away the church properties and give
it alternate space in the cyber world. While there are so many pressing social
issues confronting Goa that needs urgent attention, it is interesting that some
people are distracting the public on church properties.
