               August 25, 2009 - Goanet's 15th Anniversary

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Swindon is a a place where the Goans from Goa Velha have carved from themselves
a few niches.  Many of our country cousins after paying the lawyers the
unscrupulous  "portuguese passport"  service providers or the dirty middlemen
have been robbed, and even cheated and made to wait. The lucky few have managed
to slip into the UK and Swindon has been their place.
Swindon is a small "goa" for many  they crave for jobs, some Goans bribe the
British officials who are now contaminated with our  way of life - who
cares?  The old ladies who work as nannies and house maids after leaving their
government jobs where they used to really for for just 30 minutes a day,
chat for the rest of the time, now slog just like we make the Kannada Migrants
work in our toilets.  Many of the ladies who used to help to slaughter pigs and
manufacture sausages now work as toilet cleaners a job which we shun in goa as
"bongi"  jobs do not mind being paid 4 to 5 quid an hour!
Of late and due to the economic meltdown  many of our gaanv baav are employed
in the airports and  parking lots....Some have done their MA in microbiology
and even passed out in the Goa University after thei post-graduate degrees.

My caring advice and free advice that too is that in to-days world no one loves
no one...
Much is said and done but more is said than done...
We live in a world of easy living,  and it is no longer summer time with the
easy living'

Why cannot we make a livin' in Goa? There are fields which have been stolen from
Bakars lie uncultivated. Why can't people be like us Moidekars?
Why can't we work hard?
So the next time the Portuguese passport service providers rob of your euros
and rupees think twice....stay in Goa, be like a Goan, and you will save
yourselv from
"SWINDON FLU"

Be happy don't worry.

X B Moidekar.
