Mario's vehemently-argued perspective is an interesting insight into
the stranglehold conservatives like to have on religion, and to shape
the realm of god in their own image and likeness.

Mario responds:

I am not surprised that a Marxist sympathiser like Red Fred would try and
confuse and distort what I have said with such snide and bogus comments.

These liberals consider even a religion as a plaything for their social
experimentation. Well, there are many other Christian sects with flexible
philosophies where they will find a congenial home and they are welcome to join
any one of those.

My "vehemently-argued perspective" can be summed up as follows, with no
vehemence whatsoever:

a) There is a difference between sinners who have repented and shown remorse
and those who continue to openly and publicly defy Church teachings. Every
practicing Catholic would know this.

b) If their beliefs are sincere, those with contrary views can easily leave the
Church and continue their advocacy within an alternative setting rather than
dilute the Church's teachings and deflect it from its mission.

What about any of this is so difficult to understand? Everyone has free
choice, and the Church is simply defending its own closely-held beliefs from
internal sabotage.
