Albert writes:- I fully agree with Arwin  that we should have tiatr festival in
Goa instead of IFFI. Tiatr has been progressing outside India where ever group
of goans have gone for employement. Whether it is Dubai kuwait Baharein, or UK
US or even Germany Tiatr has been flourishing. The tiatr which won me a second
prize " Mummy maka vengent dor" at the competition held by Goa Konkani academy
in 2007 would have been appreciated if it was held at the festival .But my
tiatr made entry in UK when People like Greg Carvalho and others took it upon
themselves even without my help and presence to stage three shows which went
houseful in a foreign land and I was suprised that those people whom I knew in
Goa and never heard them speak Konkani were fluent with the language on the
stage. Imagine Goans in a country where English is spoken and written all over
acting on a stage and speaking fluent konkani really surprised me when the
people in Goa cannot speak so much. A tiatr festival will encourage small
writers like me who have no godfathers to put their shows and also an
encouragement to various children and adults who have God given talents but no
opportunity to come on the stage. I do not think films will help us in any way.
Look at the treatment that is given to Goan films and film artists.
