Hindus whether living in India or Christian countries celebrate all their religious festivals with great pomp, great noise, great fireworks. Unfortunately our Catholic people celebrate Easter and Christmas in a very muted way. Its a different matter that our catholic people celebrate baptisms, birthdays, weddings on a grand scale.
Unlike the followers of Islam or Hinduism who will go on a rampage if anyone dares to ridicule their religions. Our Catholic people will protest peacefully which does not have any effect on people like Dan Brown or Ron Howard. So expect Dan Brown to write many more anti-Christ novels and expect Ron Howard to make many more anti-Christ movies. Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons were just the beginning. Like Pandora's Box, once the Vatican II council was opened on change and experimentation, it caught on and spread like the swine flu. The Vatican ordered all Catholic countries to alter their constitutions so that they would no longer be Catholic countries but would uphold liberal pluralism. Before the Vatican II council of 1962-65 the Church attendance in Europe was 90%, Seminaries were full and religious life prospered with schools, hospitals and other social agencies providing much needed services for God's people. Today, due to the experimentation of Vatican II, Mass attendance in Europe is about 25%, Shortages of priests have led to closing of churches, Seminaries are struggling to stay open due to the decline in vocations, religious life is on the verge of extinction and the wonderful institutions of hospitals, schools and social agencies once staffed by religious are disappearing. In India the effects of Vatican II were the catholic clergy (including priests, bishops, cardinals) followed the path of corruption, Church Properties were sold off, Church finances were misused, Catholic Missionaries ignored poor catholics and rushed to convert poor non-catholics with allurements, Catholic parents who had catholic names gave their children hindu names, catholic schools were filled with rich non-catholics and poor catholics were denied admission, etc. VATICAN II BROUGHT CONFUSION, CORRUPTION AND APOSTASY, and that was the warning from the Third Secret of Fatima. The Blessed Virgin warned against modernizing the church because the result would be irreconcilable Corruption, Paedophilia and Homosexuality among priests. Now its left to Pope Benedict to call a Vatican III council and rectify the problems facing Catholicism and boot out corruption, paedophilia, homosexuality, etc and Replace Latin and other regional language mass with English language mass.
