The Goa Government paid controversial Advocate General Mr. Subodh Kantak a whopping sum of Rs four crores twenty lakhs eighteen thousand seven hundred and fifty ( Rs 4,20,18, 750) for the period from June 2005 to July 2009.
Subodh Kantak is not only India’s highest paid Advocate General but the nation's highest paid constitutional authority getting paid many times more than any Governor, the Chief Justice of India and even President Pratibha Patil. An official position cannot be used to fleece the State's exchequer through hefty bills but it is sadly happening in broad daylight in India's smallest state. Advocate General Subodh Kantak continues bleeding the State exchequer though giving the Goa Government unsound legal advice. In public interest Goa needs an Advocate General having competency, honesty and integrity to restore the lost pride and prestige to that very high post. Aires Rodrigues Ribandar
