Priest and the Minister – Dogui Bodmas Well, as some one said here earlier, such controversy only help boosting sale of the CDs. I think that what has already happened. ALL SOLD OUT. Usually, I am not into Audio CD’s but curiosity made me to own a copy for my self. I was so lucky, I was told that got the last one. Well, I only listen to half of the 15 tracks and will listen to all later. Half the song directly or indirectly of the priest named ‘Daigo’ and the Minister.
The title song itself of the two –Dogui Bodmas. The CD front cover caricatures closely resembles to that of the Minister, his estranged wife?, a priest in a cassock? with a woman Whereas on the back cover it has a write up. It says’ the story revolves around a Priest – Fr. Diogo and Vickky the Politician… In another song, it says.. Fr. Daigo oxem sango Bishop tumchem kiteim aikochonam sangot tor Kiteak te dogui eka bankar xinktale barabor (Fr. Daigo used to say.. Bishop will never listen to any one, for they both studied same school and on the same bench) In the title song, the first part is of the minster and the second part of the priest. It says .. When the priest came to the church, he came along with his mistress too… Whatever it is, - I must say, so far, I like the CD. Beautiful songs, voices, music etc. - People should not have taken the law into their hands. - Producer Culvert Gonsalves seems very confident and that he knew what he was doing. - The priest if offended, all he could do was to file a defamation case. - Don’t Know if Bishop has said any thing on this or whether he sent any message to Colva Parishioners to calm down or to pacify the situation. - When we complain about priests, we says leave the priest alone, God will punish him if he is guilty but who gave us right to punish men? Can’t the same God punish the men too? - It looks like the whole thing is also politically motivated as the CD is of a minister too. Let me wind up saying, these things, I mean priest looting business, plundering gods, affair with men or women, favouritsm, Caste, etc do happen around us. After all, there can’t be smoke without fire. Priests are like you and me. They too have feelings, greed, desire, lust, fantasy, craving, aims, dreams etc etc. The difference between them and us is, we married to our wives/husbands where as they/Priests married to God. Like may of us doing things behind our husband/wives’ back, I guess the priests too do behind their God’s One thing is true in both cases, sooner or later the wrong thing or the affairs get busted. And soon it may becomes a controversy.
