This triggered off my curiosity....

In the Mango and The Tamarind Tree, Leslie de Noronha writes:
"Philomena --- Macao having nothing exclusive or finishing to offer
--- grew to maturity in a convent in Goa."

Needless to say, this is a fictional work. But then, fiction tends to
oftentimes be realistic too. So, a question to Bernardo Colaço: is it
true that Macau lacked educational facilities of that kind a
generation or so ago? How did it compare to Goa then? Just curious...
