Goa Sudharop Scholarship Awards to meritorious students needing financial help 
– Rs. 5000/- cash award and a Certificate of Merit to each awardee.
   -  8 awards to Std. X of State Board – March 2009 Examination.
   -  4 awards to Std. XII of State Board – March 2009 Examination.

Goan Youth Achiever Awards 2009 – Rs. 10,000/- cash award, and a Certificate of 
Appreciation to each awardee.
1) To Mr. Swapnil A. Asnodkar  for outstanding performance as a Cricketer,
2) To Mr. Mothes Antao for his relentless fight against destructive mining in 
Goa,
3) To Advocate Jessica Fernandes for spearheading the movement for protection 
of agricultural land, and organizing the farmers for this goal,
4) To Ms. Sonia Sirsat for her exceptional efforts to promote Goan traditional 
folk songs.

Special Recognition Awards to Social Activists – Rs. 5000/- Cash Award each and 
a Certificate of Appreciation
1) To Mr. Sebastian Rodriguez for his effective and consistent work in 
environmental awareness and conservation.
2) To Mr. Frankie Montero for unearthing the SEZ problem through effective use 
of RTI Act, and for playing active role in the popular campaign against SEZs in 
Goa.

Financial assistance to battered women – Rs. 5500/- each donated by Raissa de 
May.  2 awards - names withheld.

Donation to schools and colleges for helping deserving and needy students – Rs. 
14,000/- to each institution donated by Joe and Acaria Almeida.

A donation in public interest of Rs. 20,000/- to SEZ Virodhi Manch towards the 
administrative expenses of the campaign against SEZs in Goa.

5.05 pm  A few words from Mr. Pravin Sabnis of Unlearning Unlimited
         who was the main resource person for some of the one day youth
         leadership workshops Goa Sudharop organized in observance
         of 2009 as “Year of Youth”.

5.15 pm  A Konkani song by Ms. Sonia Sirsat

5.20 pm  Fr. Frederick Rodrigues, Principal, Fr. Agnel College of
         Arts & Commerce, Pilar, to briefly speak on his observations
         and experiences of the youth programmes Goa Sudharop
         conducted in association with Fr. Agnel College.

5.30 pm  Youth ambassador Ms. Shilla Almeida from USA to
         address the audience.

5.35 pm  Goa Sudharop’s 2009 Report of activities and The Vote
         of Thanks by Mr. Ibonio D’Souza.
