For once, a sane voice on G-net. Thanks you. True, such incidents happen in any society cannot be controlled. This is the price one pays for being a tourist state and crime can be discouraged but no law nor rules can control certain activity. Unfortunately, Goa is a rouge state (voted the most corrupt state, nice) as well, not a tourist state and its time we behave like one! We make a living off it no?
The beaches, like all other tourist spots are open to public and cannot be monitored. Everyone is welcome including the nanga-deko gwakers. That said, this afternoon in Harmal the Tourism Department (around 2:30) did a sloppy raid when they ordered the removal of the sunning chairs from the waters edge. There was tension all around. Shak owners were shouting, "tourism ayle". The tide was rather high and what seemed like a strike after a warning (should really be strike without a warning one would think), the sakarams (numbering 9-10 in all) and two more sakarams from the Traffik department, just stood around while shak owners were running with the sunning chairs. I understood the sunning chairs would be moved away from the water so the nanga-deko observers will stay away from the bikini clads. For once, something rational but one imagines this is more for the optics and damage-control for the T-department. I just happened to be out for an afternoon passoi in my new beige Armani suit!
