Today's news indicates that the latest so-called attack was an attempt at an
insurance scam.

QUOTE:
Jaspreet Singh, 29, of Grice Crescent, Essendon, in the city's north, faced an
out-of-sessions hearing early this morning before a bail justice at St Kilda
Road police complex charged with making a false report to police and criminal
damage with a view to gaining a financial advantage.
...
Detective Senior Constable Danielle O'Keefe of the arson and explosives squad
told the hearing they believe Singh suffered the burns while trying to torch
his 2003 Ford Futura.

Det O'Keefe said arson chemists and hospital staff had concluded the damage to
the car, Singh's clothes and his injuries were not consistent with his story.

"Police inquiries have led us to believe that Mr Singh is in some financial
difficulty and that he intended to sell his car but instead stood to gain
$11,000 from an insurance claim out of this particular incident," she told the
hearing.

Police had obtained security footage allegedly depicting Singh buying a
15-litre opaque plastic container and 15,96 litres of petrol on the day before
the attack. The container and other evidence was found at his unit when he was
arrested yesterday, Det O'Keefe said.

Also, an earlier murder by burning:

THE Indian media have all but ignored a murder allegedly committed by three of
the country's own citizens, in marked contrast to the hysterical coverage of
allegedly racist attacks on Indian nationals in Australia.

Fruit-picker Ranjodh Singh was believed to be alive when he was allegedly set
on fire near the NSW Riverina town of Griffith on December 29.

Three Indian nationals faced court yesterday charged over Singh's murder after
police arrested the third suspect, a 25-year-old man, in Wagga Wagga.
Gurpreet Singh, 23, and his wife, Harpreet Kaur Bullar, 20, faced Sutherland
Local Court, and Harpreet Singh appeared in Wagga Wagga Local Court. Neither
Gurpreet Singh nor Ms Bullar applied for bail. They were arrested by NSW
homicide squad detectives on Thursday.

It appears that the above information has not been published in Indian
newspapers
Vic Police are doing their best to apprehend culprits, but contrary to the way
Indian police work, Victorian police keep a low profile and I understand that
lately police do not divulge the ethnicity of the culprits for reasons best
known to themselves.

The media and political hype have blown issues out of proportion. Does Krishna
mean that ordinary Australians (of various backgrounds besides white) do not
get attacked/killed/bashed? Does the fact that some Indians get involved in
this increasing violence mean that just Indians are singled out?

Regards,

Gabriel.
