The myths surrounding the apparent lack of correlation between C02 levels and global temperatures have been debunked in this Newscientist article: http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn11639-climate-myths-the-cooling-after-1940-shows-co2-does-not-cause-warming.html Mario responds: Do I need an article with excuses and explanations for why the vaunted correlation broke down, when I can see for myself what actually happened to the global temperature between 1940 and 1980 and since 1998 while CO2 levels were rising? Am i supposed to forget that climate scientists were worried about global cooling in the mid 1970s? Why would I support turning the economies of the western countries back to pre-industrial days when we have no idea whether the earth is going to continue warming after the current open-ended hiatus, or go back to the predictions of the mid 1970s that we were heading for a mini-ice-age? It sounds far more plausible to me that the earth is going through just what Pluto and ars are experiencing, warming caused by activity on the sun.
