Now that the false claims by the extreme right wing and modern day Luddites against the IPCC/East Anglia have been du-bunked, we are now left with rather feeble (and disproved) comments that global warming is "plausibly being caused by sun activity". Something "plausible" without data is meaningless.
For those who are not aware, all this brouhaha was caused by the use of language that was used to derive the data. Specifically, a particular mathematical transformation was used to generate the data, which the emails described as a "trick". This is common parlance in mathematics and sciences that require the use of mathematical processes. However, those with vested interests decided to misrepresent this statement to discredit this research.
