'DORAEMON' JAPANESE ANIME AMBASSADOR IS COMING TO GOA - JAPAN FESTIVAL 2010


'Doraemon' appointed as the first 'Anime Ambassador' of Japan, one of the most 
popular animation characters is coming to Goa.   The Anime Ambassador will 
introduce many works that depict everyday life and customs in Japan.

The Consulate General of Japan, Mumbai and The International Centre, Goa will 
hold the 'Japan Festival 2010' in Goa from 13th February, 2010 to 16th 
February, 2010 at the International Centre, Goa University Road, Dona Paula.

The 'Japan Festival 2010' will screen a Japanese Animation Film 'Doraemon' and 
will showcase an Exhibition of Japanese Kites and Tops', and have 
demonstrations of 'Origami', the art of paper folding.          

Kites were introduced in Japan some 1,200 years ago. Kites are usually flown in 
Japan on festive occasions, mainly New Year celebrations and other festivals 
such as Boys Day. 76 kites and 67 tops of various kinds originating from 
different prefectures and cities of Japan reflecting the culture of Japan 
dating back to hundreds of years will be exhibited.

The demonstrations in 'Origami' will be held on Sunday, 14th February, 2010 
from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m and from 3.30 pm. to 5.30 p.m.       

Entry to Japan Festival 2010 is free.
