"Back to square one" by Venita Coelho (Herald, 24 / 2 / 2010) is an
admission that the people of Goa continue to be cheated on the Regional Plan
2021 process. It is something we have been warning ever since the year 2007.
The question remains as to whether the government is cheating the people or
whether the people are allowing themselves to be cheated. And while the
bugles of revolt are shamelessly being blown again with Goa state elections
just 2 years away, goans may well get ready for being taken in circles yet
again. After all, goans are experts at dancing the 'Corridinho' and not
surprisingly the history of Goa's social movements proves that time and
again the goan people have always enjoyed landing back to square one. How?
It is obvious for those who desire to introspect. We do not seem to grow any
wiser.
