Hi Marshall, Even I have some questions for you -
1. Shouldn't secular people support Tasleema Nasreen just like they support MF Hussain ?
2. What do you think about the violence being wrecked in Shimoga last week ? Shouldn't this violence be condemned ?
3. In 2004 Hussain made a movie called Meenaxi starring Tabu. The Muslim Ulema objected to this movie because of a single song. Promptly within a day, he withdrew his movie from all movie theatres permanently. If he is a staunch defender of freedom of expression shouldn't he have held his ground ? My question for you - does this sound like double standards ?
4. Do you think in Qatar Hussain will be able to draw a nude Qatar mata ? I am not even talking of Prophet drawings.
However I do feel that Hussain should come back to India and his works should be exhibited here. What we should avoid is any kind of double standards.
