Well-known tiatrist William Menezes, popularly known as William de Curtorim,
was seriously injured after he met with an accident near the Verna bypass on
Sunday evening.
According to Verna police, the accident occurred at about 6.30 pm when Menezes,
who was proceeding towards his residence in his Hero Honda motorcycle, collided
against a Hyundai Getz car (GA-09-A-1629) at Verna bypass. Menezes sustained
multiple injuries and was later rushed to the GMC Hospital in a 108 ambulance.
Verna police has registered a case of accident and is investigating into the
matter.
The condition of William de Curtorim who is undergoing treatment at Goa Medical
College hospital was stated to be critical. As the news spread, many a stage
artiste
rushed to the GMC to enquire about his condition.
He was a big hit in many tiatrs for his hard-hitting witty songs laced with
political masala.
