Best out of Waste Competition: If you look around your home, you will be sure to find at least ten articles that you do not really require. Many of us have the habit of storing or throwing away things that do not serve their purpose anymore. Instead of discarding them, be creative and make “Best out of Waste”. If you reduce the waste generated by your household by 10 percent, you can save 500 kilograms of carbon dioxide annually! So take action for our planet and come with your “Best out of Waste” creations on Earth Day at The International Centre Goa.

About HOME: Home is an environmentally conscious documentary directed by internationally renowned photographer Yann-Arthus Bertrand and produced by Luc Besson. The movie was released simultaneously on June 5, 2009, World Environment Day, in cinemas across the globe, on DVD, Blu-ray, television and on internet. Opening in 181 countries, the film broke the world record for the largest film release in history. Shot in 54 countries and 120 locations over 217 days, Home presents the many wonders of planet Earth from an entirely aerial perspective. In our 200,000 years on Earth, humanity has hopelessly upset Mother Nature's delicate balance. Some experts claim that we have less than ten years to change our patterns of consumption and reverse the trend before the damage is irreversible. Produced to inspire action and encourage thoughtful debate, Home poses the prospect that unless ! we act quickly, we risk losing the only home we may ever have.

About Saimakade Samvad: Saimakade Samvad is an animated film with the theme of threats to our environment at its centre. The characters are engaged in a dialogue with the nature wherein they understand the nature when nature expresses the challenges posed by human beings.
