Dear Dan, Allow me first to state that I appreciated your SFX-Inquisition posting even though I disagree with the premise you utilised before arriving to a possible hypothesis.
I personally believe that Gilbert is being quite unreasonable in trying to cross examine you because you have a hypothesis. It is not as though you assigned culpability on SFX for the atrocities of events which took place several years after his death. You merely considered the possibility how his statements could have affected those who followed him. To be honest, it is quite reasonable for one to consider that as a possibility. The relevance to 2010: Specialists in areas need to watch how their words and thoughts are repackaged and sensationalised by journos and editors who may not be on the same wavelength or insight as they have. We live in an age when statements made by politicians .... for political purposes ....act as inspiration (incitement) for some simple-minded to perpetrate violence against others. e.g. The brutal slaying of the Staines family and the Violence against women who "dare to" sip a glass of wine in a bar or hold the hands of someone they love. ps: Please continue writing to GoaNet. Never mind the challenges. You have already brought fresh energy to GoaNet. jc On 6 May 2010 00:18, DAN DRISCOLL <[email protected]> wrote: I guess I should add, by way of closure for myself on this, that the 'double post' was also result of my amateurism with p.c. protocols. As you may notice, the two compositions were done within minutes of each other, because I thought that the first 'send' attempt went to some kind of cyber black hole. It was not meant as 'double provocation'. Anyway, thanks for the fun of tilting at the windmill. Let's all try to be good sports.
