http://www.navhindtimes.in/news/stringent-laws-needed-deal-drug-menace-says-rane Our Corrupt Politicians Have Tarnished Goa's Image More Than The Drug Trade The Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Mr. Pratapsing Rane on Saturday said that Goa's image has been tarnished globally due to the flourishing drug trade in Goa, he also went on to say that the drug menace should be dealt with stringent Laws. Now, here is one elite member of the Vidhan Sabha, who is actually accepting the fact that there is a drug problem in Goa. It is indeed high time somebody accepted the fact. I would just like to know, if drug trade has tarnished Goa's image globally, how high have our politicians kept Goa's image ? Goa has the ignominy and the acrimony of being crowned as, one of the most corrupt state in India, so what action should be taken against the politicians who have tarnished, Goa's image even further ? No doubt drug dealers have to be dealt with, but shouldn't action be taken against all our corrupt politicians ? Our corrupt politicians have tarnished Goa's image globally even more than the drug trade and they have the temerity to say drug trade has tarnished Goa's image ! A golden rule of life is: Do not let your vile virtuosity run away with you After the murder of teenager Scarlet, her mother had been crying out loud about the involvement of, one of Goa's top politician, and now again after the arrest of the Israeli drug lord, his girlfriend has come out with the same statement, so if our politicians are so very serious about action against drugs, why is no investigation launched against the said politicians ? Or have our Goa politicians acquired immunity against prosecution like international diplomats ? Such displays of moral indignation, indeed reek of hypocrisy. Dead man's finger prints had been forged in the presence of a judge, judge was suspended but the other two involved are still ministers, why was no action has been taken against these guys ? Crime rate is very high in Goa and it is the politicians who abet, use and shelter these criminals because' birds of the same feathers flock together. How can crime rate subside when our very own politicians are scam-esters and criminals ? Law and order in Goa seems to be increasingly adrift and without any recourse, turning into an unambiguously immoral edifice, making a gross travesty of the Law itself. To improve the law and order situation in Goa, it not just enough to make raucous cries for the blood of criminals and drug dealers, the top criminals masquerading as politicians, robbing the public and filling their own pockets, should be stripped naked of their masks and taken to task first, to have even a semblance of a chance to improve the law and order situation in Goa. Otherwise Goa will always be in a state of perennial chaos.
