Hi Floriano,
You have given a fair deal of thought on the subject and perhaps the punishment
handed out by the High Court is justified. I for one would have been pleased if
the sentence were 'Life in Prison with hard labour'. This will enable him to
contemplate the magnitude of the crime he committed and he would perhaps never
be at peace. This is the right punishment. If he is executed, then in the minds
of the Jihadists, he has become another Martyr to their cause. This way, we
deprive him and his cause of a martyr and delay his supposed direct entry into
heaven and his awaiting Virgins will also have aged by the time he dies and
goes to meet them. Perhaps at that juncture, Extremist Islamists will have
hopefully vanished from the face of the earth.
Wishful Thinking maybe.

Manuel (Eddie) Tavares.
