No one would like to be called the above. I am not clueless, yet one cannot know Goan politics as it plays out between various groups, parties, mindsets, class structures, cultural cognoscenti, etc. For sure there are many issues that must be getting played out. I do feel that this could have been dealt differently, perhaps via phone or something in a more considerate manner. Lack of consideration on any side is the key in any argument. Words like 'absurd,' also gets sharp reaction, although they may be intended differently. I know this have gone over and over my larger mistakes of the past three and a half decades (I turned 49 recently), as an attempt to seek what ticked someone one off, even when the applied words were precise as in critically thought out.It has to do with first of all an understanding of what we put out, what we hear and most importantly how we are perceived (more than a two way street). So complex. Often what we write is heard differently as you would know in the mind. I also know that the world much as I thought way, way back does not thrive on the arts--a section of people do. Most do not. I am personally not sure what the name of the movie was when it was talked about in the past on Goanet, Gulf, Canada, etc. If it was the same, and leave alone others but I for one did not notice it, then from my side at least accept my sincere apologies. I do not have to do so, but understand what my responsibility is. My interjection, and queries were addressed strictly against what I saw and read to the depth possible for me to do so in in Florano's response on Goanet. What seems to have happened has to do with the above in my opinion. It was downhill from the word "PSEUDO-^" and, "prize for this kind of thing? (deleted)." What I will still say, and perhaps this is all I can: In your Goan spirit continue to do with your mite what you do and can do for Goa and its people. Look at all sides and become friends you two. Try having a quiet chat, however irresponsible it may seem of me to suggest this. All Goans are important to Goa, while the vultures watch, including those closest to us. Bless you, Bless Goa (not said lightly) and Bless Floriano for in his own way perhaps its him and those like him who may seize the bull. The point being that it takes someone willing to get into the muck to clean it. Dear Devika, By unsolicited I hope you do not mean uncouth or insulting. There is no doubt in my mind that you have a good grip of language. When you say "your friend Floriano" (meaning mine), it alludes that I am in cahoots with him. Truly, I am not. I see things as I see them, and put thoughts out; meaning I am asking. The other/Other will accordingly rise or fall in esteem, or whatever. That is one way of leveling. My stating upfront that I did not know you, was to say that although I do not know you, I am asking you something. I do agree that things are not always as transparent as they seem/or are made to appear; and knowing about transparencies of all manners including layering of color washes to m*ise* -en-*abyme--issues do get glazed according to ones manner of seeing, reflecting, and speaking.
