[A] Rajan Parrikar (tongue in cheek) noted that an outsider, was arrested yesterday by the Vigilance bureau for accepting an amount that was deemed too low by the standards acceptable to Goa and Goans.
[B] soter de Souza wrote: Following the arrest of the migrant Registrar of Cooperatives for corruption we have reports about the arrest of 5 migrants for extortion of garbage collectors in St. Inez. [c] Frederick Noronha wrote: You guys would do yourselves and Goa a big favour if you focussed on corruption, instead of ethnicity! COMMENT: Do not know if "ethnicity" is the appropriate word for use in this context, but even if it is.... May I ask Frederick Noronha: HOW, focusing on corruption in Goa would do Rajan/Soter etc and/or Goa a big favour? Reading from afar, I took the above Rajan/Soter statements to mean that the nuevo-Bhaille have brought to Goa a depressingly unprecedented level of corruption. Is Frederick suggesting that this is not true, or (if true) is he suggesting that he has been focusing on corruption in his posts to newspapers and news agencies? jc
