In 2007 I came across a news item about Gerry Jutsun, a Canadian
film-maker whose grandmother was “Spanish, and half Goan”.  I wrote to
him and he revealed that his mother is Hillary Cordeiro (ex-Karachi)
and his  paternal grandmother was a D'Abreu and the daughter of
Cincinatus D’Abreu also ex-Karachi.

independent film and entertainment studio, Jutsun Media Group or JMG …
Justun was born in London, England, his father Leslie is half British
with his grandmother being Spanish, and half Goan … his mother Hilary,
who is also Goan, worked as a stock investment portfolio manager while
ironically playing classical piano, singing and practicing jazz and
tap dance … The latest work of Gerry’s  studio is sure to be a
blockbuster, a full length feature film recounting the historic
meeting between Elvis Presley and the Beatles … Visit

In every way, the Goans of Bombay were part of the great melee that was this
metropolis, distinct perhaps in the way communities often are, holding on to
their own traditions but merging slowly nonetheless and forming the thin thread
of nationhood that would eventually become India. -- Selma Carvalho, in *Into
