-- Samir Umarye Bicholim, October 1*:* Irate mob of around 150 parents on thursday compelled the administrator of a school in Bicholim to break open the lock of headmasters room.
The ongoing dispute between the headmaster and the management of the school of Raoji Rane high school Maulingem Bicholim has been creating problems for the students for past several years. The Parent Teachers association feels that this action by the administrator will send a strong message to the members of the management that they should not interfere into the academic matters. Meanwhile all PTA members have welcomed the step taken by the administrator giving justice to the feelings of the parents and for protecting the interest of the students. It may be recalled that the academic career of 165students studying in Raoji Rane high school Maulingem was running in dark due to the dispute between headmaster and the management of the school from last many years. The dispute had crossed such a height that the headmasters room was locked by the management a twice which compelled the education department to appoint the administrator on 16th June 2009 to tackle the matter to some extent. Accordingly one of the official namely Dande was appointed to carry on the things. After a period of one year the management demanded with the education department to hand over the charge to them and reacting over to their demand education director Selsa Pinto agreed to the demand provided the management fulfills some conditions. However when this issue was about to be solved the management put the lock to the headmasters room on which the latter lodged a complaint with the education department and the lock was removed in presence of the administrator. But the issue aggravated when the management once again put the lock the headmasters room and presently the room was locked. Today the lock was removed by the administrator again but only after around 150 members compelled him to do so. Sarpanch Shiva Gonakar, PTA members and teachers were present on the occasion. The PTA has further demanded that administrator be retained till the entire things solved also demanding that the school be handed over to the government to settle the matter once for all.(DG)
