Hi Selma, How unsuspecting! My goal was to get you caught up in a discussion on Goanet...
But since that has been achieved now (and you are quite unable to slink away into darkness, as I often choose when it suits me!) ... let me also say I think the grind of religion (particularly Catholicism) is something that can be very useful for children. I think strict, Jesuit schools are particularly good for this. Problem is that Jesuits have become too liberal, and all-things-to-all-men these days, promoting everyone from Christ the King, to Comrade Christ and Jesus, CEO if you know what I mean. Not to forget about naturopathy :-) Either you will emerge as someone at peace with your religion, or will think out positions carefully and rebel. As a former conservative Catholic I should know. (Of course, it does help if those without the faith don't rub their views into the nose of others unlike them, and if those comfortable with their religious ideology don't get suspicious or sneering of those who don't share their perspective.)
