The Goan population growth rate has remained static at about ~12,000 people per
year for the last several years. ~24,000 people are born each year and ~12,000

Given this fact the Goan population is likely to grow only to about ~1,590,000
in 2020, assuming it is about ~1,470,000 today, unless one believes that
millions of non-Goans will invade and settle down in Goa. In 1991, the
