Uggh! Grrr! Tchah, that should have read "The Filthy Indian"
In one breath Indians who hold nationalities of countries in the Western
Hemisphere deplore the fact that there are Indians who are forced to live on
a per diem 1.25 USD. In the next breath they expect India which is a host to
teeming hordes to keep pace with countries of their adoption.
Question: Weren't a great many of those who settled down in good ole US of A
a bunch of carpet baggers? Likewise in other countries too? Were the
carpetbaggers overly concerned about matters of hygiene, honesty etc?
India's problems are caused by its large population and the inability to
economically support such a large population. Add to this soup of ills are
the illegalities that have been fostered by the A Rajas and their ilk
I would like to pose a question, When you are earning a mere 1.25 what would
be your priorities? Scrambling for food, clothing and shelter (Roti, Kapda
aur Makkan), or would you be overly concerned with emptying dustbins and
keeping what semblance of a shelter you have fit for royalty? Do a reality
check. Take a close look round at the bag people, the street people the
slums anywhere in the world - Yes unfortunately every big city has them and
sometimes small ones too. People concerned about their basic needs simply do
not bother to consider about the small things (in their estimation). Slums
everywhere breed squalor, crime and associated ills. Look around you and
then condemn.the Ugly Indian. Yes Mr. Indian-settled-in-the-west, Mr.
Westerner, it took those countries many, many years to achieve what they
have. Many of these countries looted their colonies so that their own
citizens could be prosperous. And with prosperity, one can spend time on the
non-essentials in life.
And while we are on this train of thought, why are these so called advanced
nations choking the economic growth of the third world countries?
Look what economic well-being has done to countries like Britain. People on
the dole there can afford to catch a chartered flight and enjoy a two week
holiday in Ugly India. With their doles which barely support them in
Blighty, they expect all kinds of facilities in India.
Readers in this forum will be quick to say well Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau,
and China are so different. Everything is so well organized. Look what was
prevailing in Goa during the erstwhile colonial rule. My reply to these
critics is that these are dictatorships. When big brother is ever there to
enforce his will, people naturally tend to obey the law. We breathe the air
of freedom here where every one has inalienable fundamental rights.
This is not to be understood that I support the filth, the grime and the
garbage, be it littered on our streets or among our politicians, I only ask
for a more positive approach to these problems with one stipulation. Sermons
and preaching on Goanet are definitely a solution. Positive action on the
part of everyone who is concerned about Goa/ India will work wonders.
