I would really like to know what cruelties the Portuguese really inflicted on Goans.
Were they more cruel than the British, who blew up all the mutineeers of 1857 tied in front of cannons? or the time when the British allowed people to die of hunger in Bengal? Or more cruel than the Partitioners who allowed thousands to butcher each other during the mass migrations of people after the partition of India? Or more cruel than the Indian hordes who raped, mutilated and massacred untold number of their own people in Gujarat recently? Or more cruel than the Indian Army which is torturing the Kashmiris, Mizos and Nagas in today's India? Could the VHP expand on this issue they're so vehement about? ----- Original Message ---- > From: Goanet News <[email protected]> > To: "Goa's premiere mailing list, estb. 1994!" <[email protected]> > Sent: Tue, 11 January, 2011 4:49:51 AM > Subject: [Goanet] NEWS: Over 11,000 attend VHP Ponda meet (ToI) > > "When a Portuguese vessel came to Goa this year to mark their 450 > years of cruelty in the state and the rape of our women by the > colonizers, we protested and stopped the chief minister and even the > governor from being a part of it.
