Assault on Photo Journalist (Dadagiri in Panjim Market?) Part II: We once again went to the Panjim Market today. We still did not find the alleged assailant Hyder Ali who is in his mid 30s. Apparently, the chained guy (around the neck) we talked about the other day is his brother, we were told.
We asked so many vendors but none willing to narrate what exactly happened. We then went to Panjim Police Station to find out more truth. When asked whose fault it was? The reply was ‘The vendor assaulted him so it’s definitely vendor’s fault’ said the police incharge of this case. And that they are on the case (investigating). This is the first time I ever visited Panjim Police Except at the time of annual Ganapati Dharsan. I feel that CCP or any other authority should suspend or cancel the alleged assailant's license or ban him from Panjim Market. We don't want goondas We don't want dadagiri It happened once and it can happen again And this will send a strong signal across that Goondari or dadagiri is not tolerated here (in Goa).
