COMMENT : In Goa “Ghanti” were referred to people from beyond the
Western Ghats, the boundries of Goa. These people also spoke language which was
not Konkani and not understood by the Goans.
My efforts to find meanings of “Panklo” , “fare skinned” and "Maharashtrian
Pankles" were
futile, although I referred to the latest and oldest of dictionaries.
