COMMENTS: Reasons for this are simple: 1) Digu's mining freinds are standing, sitting and sleeping on such a huge profit that they can easily buy out anything and anybody for him to become the CM second time. 2) NGOs, Activists and other Politicians still do not know the magnitude of these monies. 3) Activists in the Western Goa do not feel the pinch of what Goa loses in the Eastern part. While likes of GBA are over obsessed with real estate and land deals, others cannot imagine beyond drugs, casinos and rapes. 4) Yesterday's march against corruption did not mention about the corruption in illegal mining and Awarding mining leases for free. If mining leases were actioned the revenue to Goa government could be over Rs 50.000 crore. This could be the biggest scam ever in Goa of omission type. 5) The opposition leader is also dancing to the tunes of Digu. In 2009 mosoon assembly sessions he alleged illegal mining to be 22% of total. Mid last year, he along with Shripad Naik claimed illegal mining to be Rs 4000 crore a year (So much noise in Karnataka against Reddy Bros is not even 25% of this). In September, 2010 he claimed police-illegal mining nexus at Bicholim saying, “If the Bicholim PI continues there for another year, he will be the richest man. He will be richer than any drug pushers…I am making this statement with full knowledge”.
