Dear Gasper,

I do hope that these comments will find its way in the gulfgoan list, while thanking you for posting the below to me for my comments.

First, I am sorry to say that I have not been as euphoric as Venita Coelho about the rally against CORRUPTION at Panjim, and I do not share her optimism that GOA can tackle corruption at home at the individual level. Those who do it are like needles in a haystack, probably wanting out too.

And I want to congratulate Anthony Simoes for his usual burst at exposing the 'rot' which nobody tends to bother about. But I have come to a stage where my well of congratulatory utterings has bone dried-up. Today, every next person seems to be doing better expose' than the other and the newspaperman is laughing all the way to the bank. And the chanawalla is having a field day too parceling his channas with these worthy articles.

When Venita Coelho says: "For the first time in years, a non-political rally in Goa drew a huge crowd", she must remember that the non-political GBA rally on 18 December, 2006 was 5000 plus and it became water on duck's back. Therefore just a 1000 at the anti-corruption rally is a washout sending a signal to the world that Goa wants to revel in CORRUPTION. Otherwise, this rally should have been 10,000 plus. Anthony Simoes is very right. Corruption has seeped into the Goan psyche in a record time of 49 years. That should be a WORLD RECORD if they have such a record. Goa from nil corruption to 100 per cent corruption in just 49 years speaks volume about the reason WHY. Simply because the WHIP that rooted out corruption was buried deep deep down calling it a DICTATORSHIP and we Goans opted for this CORRUPT DEMOCRACY or what was hanged from our necks by the invading loudmouths and their Goan chamchas who call themselves Goa's Freedom Fighters. WHAT A SHAME INDEED.

No, I stayed away from the Rally because I didn't want to count the number of hypocrites marching. And I didn't want to listen to more hypocrites haranguing the lesser hypocrites at the top of their tonsils. No. I was not there because I didn't want to be a minority among hypocrites. But if this rally was a political rally, I would have been there to lead it. Only then the absence of politicians who stir the cauldron of corruption would be noticed by their very absence. And this political rally would have taken Goa some place.

If GOA wants to be a non-corrupt state, it has to dig hard to find that buried WHIP. And hard to believe but true that ' The WHIP ' can also co-exist with DEMOCRACY too. Singapore, which our esteemed corrupt politicians call a POLICE STATE, is corruption free while it stays FULLY DEMOCRATIC. A food for thought, indeed for those who want to think.

A person, by nature, will always opt for short-cuts in the absence of a WHIP. Short-cuts is CORRUPTION. I have given this example before and I shall say it again.

LEFT TO THE CONVENIENCE OF AN INDIVIDUAL, HE WILL OPT TO SHIT IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD IF THERE IS NO ONE TO SAY " HEY ! WHAT ARE YOU DOING" ...IRRESPECTIVE OF THE TRAFFIC BEING JAMMED. BUT THE VERY THOUGHT OF THE MIGHTY WHIP COMING CRASHING ON HIS BACK WILL DRY UP HIS SHIT FOR GOOD.

Goa Su-Raj has this WHIP and it will not shy away from using it too.
Give Goa Su-Raj a full 5 year term and Goans will wonder where the CORRUPTION has vanished.
TRY IT GOA.
Do not be HYPOCRITICAL.
This is a CHALLENGE FROM YOUR OWN SONS AND DAUGHTERS WHO ARE FLYING THE FLAG OF GOA SU-RAJ PARTY.

Cheers

We cannot join a rally when the political motives of the shouting brigade are contradictory and masked.

SORRY boys the truth is naked for those who have eyes and ears
