To Goanet - Every time I see "Save" or "Saving" paired with "Goa" now, I find myself rolling in the aisles with laughter.
But no laughter will help tide over what's coming down the pike. It is going to get MUCH WORSE for Goa and Goans. Recognize that there are no lower bounds on misery in India (consider Mumbai - which is really a giant toilet in which people spend their entire lives). The noise, the pollution, the traffic, the rising concrete, the ghati takeover - every single parameter of the pleasant life we were used to not long ago is on the way out. You can't prepare for it. As JC-bab said, where there is no cure, one must endure. It is the our misfortune to be joined to a country like India at this point in history. Some of the people who will benefit from the incoming era of filth are guys like Frederick Noronha, and that Shrivastava fellow for whom slums are job security. Noronha is of course the "independent journalist" and there will be many yarns to independently journalize (may peace be upon Digu-bab) about the 'complex' ghati 'ecosystem' and the ghati contribution to Goa's 'diversity.' All coming to your neighborhood ghati-bookstore-on-the-footpath-in-front-of-Caculo-Mall and other footpaths in the city. Regards, r
