Tiatr Academy of Goa will hold its monthly programme 'Meet the Artiste'
(Kolakarak Bhett) on Wednesday, 30th March 2011 at 4:45 pm at Conference
Hall of Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG), Campal Trade Center, Panjim. The
tiatr artiste of this month is Mr. Anil C. Devulkar popularly known as
Anil Kumar in the tiatr world.
Anil Kumar is a senior actor, producer, director and playwright of the
tiatr stage. He has proved himself a very versatile actor, an innovative
director and a play wright who projects an issue with thorough
understanding.
Although Anil Kumar is one of the topmost tiatr artistes of Konkani
stage, one would be surprised that he made his entry on the tiatr stage
through Khell-Tiatrs. He entered on the Khell-Tiatr stage with the help
of professional Khell-Tiatr producers, writers, directors like Patrick
Dourado, Rosario Rodrigues, A. M. Pacheco, Minino De Bandar, Vitorino
Pereira, Ligorio Fernandes, C. D. Silva, John D'Silva, Prince Jacob,
Pascoal Rodrigues, etc.
He made his debut on professional tiatr stage in 1980 in the tiatr
entitled 'Ordhi Bhakri' written, produced and directed by Prem Kumar.
Since then he has worked with stalwarts of tiatr like M. Boyer, C.
Alvares, Chris Perry, Remmie Colaco, Jacinto Vaz, Nelson Alfonso, Kamat
de Assolna, Shalini Mardolkar, John Claro, Alfred Rose, Mike Mehta, Joe
Rose, Paul Romy, Rodhill, Seby D'Souza, Fr. Freddy, Fr. Planton Faria, etc.
He is a good writer too. He has written tiatrs on various issues that
exist in our society. The content of his tiatrs have proved that Anil
Kumar's writing is full of rich contents which helps him to present the
issue in an effective manner. So far he has written, tiatrs like 'Otmo',
'Bhirant', 'Saulli', 'Divea Pondak', 'Dev Podvedar', 'Dennem Devachem',
Noxib', 'Axechi Bhuk', 'Maim What is This?'. He has also directed all
his tiatrs which were liked by the tiatr goers.
Anil Kumar could not limit his acting abilities to the field of tiatr
alone. Hence he decided to act in Konkani Films. M. Das's Konkani Film
'Grestkai' and Pundalik Naik's 'Doulot' are two films in which one can
judge the acting capability of Shri. Anil Kumar.
Any work done with sincerity and dedication never goes un-noticed. Good
work is always rewarded. This is exactly what has happened to Shri. Anil
Kumar.
Anil Kumar is a recipient of Goa State Film Festival's Awards.

Best Lyrics for 'Kantteantlem Ful' in 2005.
Best Actor for 'Bhitorlea Monacho Monis' in 2008.
He is also a recipient of the Man of the Year Murli Deora Trophy
(Mumbai) in 1983.
He is also felicitated by Kala Academy of Goa for Tiatr Day and also by
many Non Government Organizations.
He has performed in Tiatrs all over Goa, Mumbai, Calcutta, Delhi,
Gujarat and overseas in the Middle East and in European Countries.
