Hello Everyone, I run a small technology startup(embedded systems, software consulting) in Goa, and some weeks back I sent an email to the so called Info Tech Corporation of Goa ([email protected] as per their website) asking how they "help and promote IT and IT enabled service industries in the state of Goa", I never got any reply from anyone regarding this ! The only thing that happened a week later was that a rashly driven Chevrolet Optra Car with "chairman - Info tech corporation of Goa" written on it tried to run me off the road when it was dropping some blackberry wielding guy to the airport ! On a lighter note - I hope it didn't have anything to do with my email !
HOWEVER govt support or the lack of it shouldn't really deter anyone starting IT related businesses in Goa - it seems to be more of an excuse to stay in their own comfortable places outside Goa! As far as I know , help from the govt. would definitely boost profitability and contribute to creating more jobs - however I don't see any reason why the govt. should give sustainable projects to people to start an IT firm in Goa ! If anyone feels they have a good idea for a technology firm and they think they'd like to start it in Goa, all they need to do is buy a ticket and fly back home !
