*ZAGRANN, Night life in Goa, a two-day exhibition of aesthetic paintings by socioligist-artist Bernadette Gomes, was inaugurated by 80-plus Daji Shirodkar (famed for singing at the traditional Siolim Zagor in Goa) at the Kala Academy Art Gallery in Panjim, Goa, India, on 8th April 2011. Bernadette's brush captures some distinct ethnic aspects of Goan life and culture and related colourful events, which are gradually seen being overcome by rapid urbanisation. The sociologist leaves behind for the forthcoming generations some vignettes of the life in Goa, and her brush strokes do it superbly. The paintings (not for sale) are a result of her research.* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6VSTj46eVA<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6VSTj46eVA> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_WQaxdni08 *Pics at FlickR*
